Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to treat substance use disorders. MAT helps reduce cravings, prevent relapse, and support long-term recovery.
Our clinic provides individualized MAT programs as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes therapy and recovery support.
Suboxone® (Buprenorphine/Naloxone)
Suboxone is commonly used to treat opioid use disorder. It helps reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings while blocking the effects of opioids, supporting patients in maintaining recovery.
Sublocade® (Extended-Release Buprenorphine Injection)
Sublocade is a once-monthly injectable medication used for opioid use disorder. It provides steady medication levels over time, helping reduce cravings and supporting treatment adherence.
Vivitrol® (Extended-Release Naltrexone Injection)
Vivitrol is a once-monthly injectable medication used to treat both opioid and alcohol use disorders. It works by blocking the effects of opioids and reducing alcohol cravings.

Asefa “Sef” Gebre, DMSc, Psych CAQ, PA-C
Asefa “Sef” Gebre, is passionate about helping individuals struggling with addiction and mental health conditions. Before transitioning fully into addiction medicine and psychiatry, he built an extensive background in both medical care and behavioral health.
Sef spent several years providing comprehensive primary care to rural communities in Southwest Missouri, where he developed a strong commitment to serving underserved populations. About five years ago, his interest in addiction and mental health deepened while treating patients with substance use disorders . This experience inspired him to further specialize in behavioral health.
He returned to school and earned his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) with a psychiatry focus from the University of Lynchburg. In addition, he obtained a graduate certificate in Addiction Medicine. Sef is a board-certified Physician Assistant and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry.
Sue Matthews, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Sue Matthews, LPC, is an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience providing therapy across a wide range of areas. including addiction counseling, trauma therapy, and family and group therapy.
Sue is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges by providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She works with clients struggling with substance use disorders, trauma, and other mental health concerns, helping them develop healthier coping skills and achieve lasting recovery.
Her therapeutic approach focuses on creating a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change.
Winsley Dombroski, MSW
Winsley has a deep passion for people struggle with mental health conditions and addictions.
Psychiatrist
Dr. Janette Leal is a psychiatrist with extensive experience treating psychiatric and addiction-related disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She provides comprehensive psychiatric care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Dr. Leal has a special interest in holistic psychiatry , focusing on the connection between mental, physical, and emotional health when developing treatment plans. Available only via Telehealth
